Recognizing our 2022 VP DEI

The VP of DEI is Alpha Chi Omega's newest executive board position, both nationally and for our chapter. Today we recognize our 2022 Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Amaya Castillo.

Amaya is a junior criminal justice psychology major from California. She says that from her term, she is most proud of "building my position more and being able to use the ideas that I did not use to help whoever take my position the next term. I am also very proud that I was able to start the TCU Alpha Chi Omega Instagram. I think that it is a great resource for our chapter as well as others." Give our DEI account a follow @tcuaxo.dei!

Amaya recommends to the future VP DEI to not be afraid to ask questions. You are not alone, and have the support of the advisor as well as the rest of the executive board. This is also a position where you can be creative, and use your own ideas to get what you want out of the position.

From her time on the executive board, Amaya has gained leadership skills, and has enjoyed being a resource for others. She says "Being a resource for the chapter is something that I enjoy doing because DEI is something that I am so passionate about." The education surrounding DEI that Amaya has provided this year has been beneficial to our chapter, and we appreciate her dedication to her position on the executive board.

Thank you, Amaya Castillo, for serving as our 2022 Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion!
