Summer Vibes with Alpha Chi

Updated: Jun 1, 2022

Summer is finally here and our Alpha Chi Omega sisters have been up to some amazing activities since school ended a few weeks ago! Here are a few highlights of what we’ve been doing and what’s to come:

We ended the semester with a chapter GPA of 3.593 and sixty-four sisters ended the semester with a 4.0 GPA! Congratulations to these hardworking women! We are so proud of you all.

We love volunteering with the Tarrant County Women’s Center during the school year, and many of our sisters are taking their philanthropy skills around the country this summer! Megan Rice (MC ‘20) will be a camp counselor at Camp Longhorn in Burnet, TX. Caitlin Everhart (MC Spring ‘21) will be serving with Americorps for Emerald Youth, a government agency that encourages volunteer and service opportunities across the United States. She will be serving middle and high school students in a variety of activities, with the main focus of leading and helping them create a service project to aid the Knoxville, TN community.

Kayla Mullin (MC ‘20) will be serving incoming TCU freshmen as Frog Camp Facilitators this summer, and Ally Jackson (MC ‘18) is on the Frog Camp Director Board for this summer! We are so proud of all of our servant-hearted sisters using their summer for good!

One of our sisters, Abi Plylar (MC ‘20), is currently in Italy with one of TCU’s Study Abroad programs. We can’t wait to hear all about it-- maybe she’ll even make us some pasta in the house this fall!

We are so proud of all of our sisters who secured internships for this summer! Jane Fill (MC ‘19) is interning with a hedge fund in Uptown Dallas and Isabelle Walsh (MC ‘19) is an internal audit analyst intern at JPMorgan Chase & Co. We love our business queens!

Interior design majors Jessica Hoepfl (MC ‘20), Hannah Emerson (MC ‘18), and Gabby Zimmer (MC ‘19) all have internships as well! Jessica is working with Perrin Project, Hannah is at BOKA Powell in Dallas, and Gabby is at Phelan’s in Dallas.

Sonya Stasiuk (MC ‘18) will be interning in New York City with the jewelry company Deepa Gurnani. Kayla Mullin (MC ‘20) will be cooking up some fun at her Puritan Bakery internship and Megan Mortensen (MC Spring ‘19) has an internship at Moxxie Event Planning. We can’t wait to use Megan’s skills when we can get back to in-person events in the fall!

Summer jobs can be boring sometimes, but these two sisters will be anything but bored at their workplaces! Sarah Ummach (MC ‘19) will be working as a Patient Care Technician on the Medical/Surgery floor at UnityPoint Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

Alpha Chi Omega women know how to work hard, but we also know how to have fun! Kayla Mullin (MC ‘20) will be traveling to Hawaii and Bass Lake this summer. Bianca Tucker (MC ‘18) will be traveling to Destin, FL with her family. Amanda Vukovich (MC ‘20) will also be vacationing in Florida and Hawaii! We can’t wait to see you all when you come home!

Finally, of course, our VP Recruitment, Ellen Brown (MC ‘19) and VP Recruitment Information, Taryn Weltzin (MC ‘18) have been working all spring and summer to get ready to welcome our potential new members this fall! Recruitment registration opened on Wednesday, June 2. We can’t wait for work week and recruitment in August so that we can welcome MC ‘21!

We are so proud of all of the Real Strong Women in our chapter and we can’t wait to hear about everyone’s summer activities this fall! See you in August!
